The first four chapters gave you the material; this one is about the judgment calls, and there are three of them.

The first is a question you'll ask yourself constantly once you know all this: is what I'm looking at about adoption, or not? That one goes wrong in both directions, and the direction most people worry about isn't the one that catches them.

The second is that your formulation won't hold still. A client whose adoption was one line on an intake form can be in active reorganization six months later, and a client who came in to work on adoption can move into a long stretch where it genuinely isn't the thing.

The third is the body, because everything this course has described, the vigilance, the grief, the not-quite-belonging, is physical before it's verbal.
